Cache 2021

Every year in the last week of December I spend my days scrolling through my notes, Google photos & flipping pages of my planner. Here are my reflections from 2021.
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. ― Søren Kierkegaard

There's a lot in my head to put into words, so I am gonna take the easy route - this post is gonna be a smörgåsbord of pictures. Things that made me feel joyous this year, things that changed who I was a year ago and things that make me 'ME'.

Don't feel guilty about the pleasures you take in the things you enjoy. ― Austin Kleon

The year of Travelling

Four trips this year (and a few small ones) and counting

From the mountains of Manali, to the calmness of South Goa, to the beaches of Mandvi and the vibrancy of Pondicherry

The year of Coffee

My partner and I are coffee geeks and we ended the year with almost all the essential equipment you need for manual brewing, along with trying a lot of coffee blends this year.

We are now proud owners of an Aeropress, Pourover Equipment, Electric Kettle, Manual Grinder, Weighing Scale, Coffee Journal, Coffee Beans and cute mugs.

The year of Love

I can't put it into words, so I won't even try :)

The year of Live Sketching

I absolutely adore sketching live landscapes and I did a lot of them this year.

The year of Reading

I finished reading 52 books for the year yesterday and oh boi whatta a year!

The year of Postcards

I am a fond collector of postcards. I started collecting them during my solo travels and I have loads of them now. I will figure a way out to portray my collection in the coming year.

The year of Yoga and Running

Yoga and Running has kept me grounded and sane all throughout the year.

The year of Pancakes

I made a hell-lot-of pancakes this year (like every Sunday, dancing in the kitchen)

The year of Flowers

Bought flowers almost every Friday evening since September this year :)

The year of New Skills

Learnt gardening and Salsa. Looking at the seeds germinate is soooo-satisfying

The year of Cooking

I have been cooking all my life but this year I tried to dip my fingers into various cuisines - Mexican, Middle Eastern, Italian etc.

Also, made a baked Blueberry cheesecake for the first time in my life.

The year of meeting all my Friends (in person)

Getting over virtual hugs and meeting all my friends physically was marvelous

The year of Music (and Podcasts)

Music has always been an integral part of my life. Music has saved me at times when nothing could. This year was different cause I binged on long form podcasts, running for hours and listening to Lex Friedman, Tim Ferriss and Joe Rogan. Small pleasures of life :)

The year of changing Jobs

I feel extremely fortunate to be able to change cities and job profile in these times. My time spent working in Corporate Strategy would be the most enriching work experience in my life in terms of how the job polished my skills and the power to articulate things better.

Also, living in Mumbai is itself quite an experience!

The year of Newsletters

My email is floooooowing with newsletters. I had so much fun this year exploring blogs, essays, newsletters, poems and lots of other reading material besides books.

Maria Popova has to be my fav and this is a card from one of her newsletters.

Also, this was the year of THIS WEBSITE.

When I started writing I had no inkling that I will end this year with more than 50 posts on my website. Extremely grateful to all my readers. Thanks for sticking by. I hope I could add some value to you and your lives :)

Lots of warm hugs and warm wishes!

May this year bring you mental peace, creativity, productivity and happiness.

Happy New Year :)
